Standards-based MWL query
Uses DcmFindSCU for C-FIND with scheduled date ranges, modality, patient name, patient ID, accession number, and RequestedProcedureID filters, including * and ? DICOM matching wildcards.
A Windows 10/11 utility for DICOM Modality Worklist queries and image sending.
DICOM Worklist Client, formerly CT Worklist Simulator, is a DICOM Modality Worklist (MWL) utility for Windows 10 and Windows 11. It queries worklists by scheduled date range, modality, patient name, patient ID, accession number, or RequestedProcedureID, supports sortable and resizable results, and sends images from a selected record with built-in C-STORE.
Version 2.4.0 provides portable Windows x64 and x86 packages with the required Qt and DCMTK runtimes and character-set data. No separate development environment is needed on the target workstation. Worklist and Store settings include C-ECHO connection tests. Windows 10/11 are the formal support targets; Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 are technical-compatibility targets that have not been validated on physical systems. The tool is intended for PACS, RIS, CT/MR integration checks, worklist configuration verification, and on-site troubleshooting.

MWL / DICOM
Uses DcmFindSCU for C-FIND with scheduled date ranges, modality, patient name, patient ID, accession number, and RequestedProcedureID filters, including * and ? DICOM matching wildcards.
Results are displayed per record with sorting and resizable columns. Double-click a record to view details and use the dedicated button or context menu to send images, reducing accidental sends.
Configure Worklist Calling AE, Called AE, and Scheduled Station AE separately to match common PACS and modality deployments.
Both Worklist and image-sending settings provide Test Connection. The test uses unsaved address, port, AE, and timeout values to send DICOM C-ECHO and reports TCP connectivity, Association, and target-service results separately.
Select multiple .dcm or .DCM files in one operation. Images are sent with built-in DcmStorageSCU, with optional waiting for a late Store service. Temporary copies synchronize record identifiers and update UIDs; source files stay untouched.
Bundled DCMTK character-set mappings support Chinese patient names. The interface follows the system language or uses Simplified Chinese or English; language changes take effect after restart.
Separate x64 and x86 ZIPs contain the matching Qt and DCMTK runtimes and character-set data. Configuration stays in an INI beside the executable and logs are written to a local logs folder.
Deploy
Workflow
Choose the x64 or x86 package that matches Windows, then verify it against the published SHA-256.
Extract it to a folder writable by your user account and preserve subdirectories such as dcmtk-data, platforms, and translations.
Run dicomworklistclient.exe. The first launch creates the configuration file beside the executable.
Open Settings and enter the Worklist and Store host, port, Calling AE, and Called AE values.
Use Test Connection on each settings tab to send C-ECHO and confirm TCP, Association, and target Verification service access.
Query the worklist, select a record, and then choose DICOM files to send with C-STORE.
INI
Settings are stored in dicomworklistclient.ini beside the executable.

FAQ
No. The x64 and x86 packages contain matching Qt and DCMTK runtimes plus character-set data. Extract the ZIP and run the executable.
Windows 10 x86/x64 and Windows 11 x64 are the formal support and validation targets. Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 are within the Qt 5.15.2 technical-compatibility range but have not been validated on physical systems in this project; they also require Universal C Runtime update KB2999226. Windows 7 RTM, Windows 8.0, Windows Server, native ARM64, and Windows 10/11 S mode are not supported.
Select Test Connection on the Worklist Service or Image Sending settings tab. The application sends DICOM C-ECHO using the current unsaved address, port, AE, and timeout values and reports TCP connectivity, Association, and target-service results separately. The target must support the Verification SOP Class.
Verify the host, port, Calling AE, Called AE, and Scheduled Station AE first. Then check date range, modality, matching values, network access, firewall rules, and whether the MWL SCP permits queries from the current AE.
No. The application creates temporary copies and updates AccessionNumber, StudyInstanceUID, SeriesInstanceUID, SOPInstanceUID, and file metadata in those copies.
No. Version 2.4.0 focuses on C-FIND worklist queries, C-ECHO connection diagnostics, result browsing, and C-STORE image sending. TLS, Worklist SCP mode, scheduled refresh, and CSV export are not included.
If only ctworklistsimulate.ini exists beside the executable, the application copies it to dicomworklistclient.ini and keeps the legacy file. Back up the original configuration according to your organization's policy before upgrading.
